What I’m Supposed to Be | Jack Wolfe Frost

I try to remember who I used to be,
Was I a dream, lost in reality,
Imagination, stuck in totality?

I need to get back to the place I once was,
Before, before,-
Before the rot took over,
And dumped me here,
Like a fish out of water,
I flop around fruitlessly,
Seeking for water in this desert of dreams.

I try and reach for the sky, the stars, even heaven,
Yet I know not where I am going,
where the path leads,
Though it leads me on regardless,
Faceless and uncaring,
Nameless and soulless.

I need to remember who I was,
So I can find who I’m supposed to be.
