She’s so amazing
And I’m in too deep
Can’t pull myself out of this now
Can’t take back embraces
And stolen moments
Wouldn’t want to anyhow
The way that she holds me
The way that she smiles
She winks and I lose control
Done fighting this feeling
I’m hers for the taking
I’ll make this work some how
Never knew what love was
Till it came from her lips
So soft and sweet was the sound
Sweet siren’s song is
Just pulling me closer
And I’m perfectly happy to drown
Cause she’s so amazing
And I’m in too deep

I never spud a bud
I never drained a darn pipe

I am in love with a girl
To my conscious, the girl not loved me
I am worried to speak to her
She never cares me

I thought, I want to speak to her
She never gives a chance to speak
I am wasting time and money
Still, it’s a long shot to meet and speak

I am sensitive in mind
I am afraid to speak in public
I feel I am nervous
It looks guilty to speak to her

I thought all the ways and means
I followed a strategy not to speak to her
I kept silent for few months
Slowly I was forgetting her

Her details are in Matrimony list
I too registered in the same Matrimony list
Her elders contacted me
I gave a green signal for an alliance

A day came closer to marriage alliance
It was a day I went to her home
She was called to speak to me
She never spoke to me, as I expected

I thought she rejected me
I was hoping for a success alliance
No reply came from her side
I doubted about this marriage alliance

A couple of weeks passed
Message came from her
She was ready for an alliance with me
I accepted for this good proposal

The stars fell just an inch
as the sky began settling
toward the ground
The great cities that had
once held it up
were now crumbling beneath
the weight of men
and blowing in the wind
toward the sea
The moon shines a bit less
bright tonight
as the sun did earlier
this afternoon
You asked me once,
but I never answered
I did not know then
what I know now
The answer is here
The universe ends here

Empathy Is Not Pete’s Forte | Donal Mahoney

Pete’s never needed
anything from childhood on.
His parents had it all
and gave it to him so it’s hard
for him to understand why
people who have nothing
march with placards in the streets
or sneak into another country
to find enough to eat, a place to live,
and raise and educate a family.

Empathy is not Pete’s forte
and that can happen when
parents give you everything,
send you to the finest schools,
leave you money you can build
a business with, go broke
and still become a billionaire.
Finally you have everything
and life becomes so boring
you decide the time has come
to run for president. Such fun.
