When the War Comes | Tilla Sonrise - Read Poetry Online by Talented Contemporary Poets

When the War Comes | Tilla Sonrise

When the bullets start singing
where will you be,
humming tunes
in your canopy under your
juniper tree,
when the buildings go a blazing
like blunts and bongs
will you still be singing those freedom songs?

The war is coming
revolution is on the rise
it’s them against us
and us against them
you better open your eyes.

The war is coming
revolution is on the rise
it’s them against us
and us against them
you better open your eyes.

When they drive tanks
through your neighborhood
and trample your
hopscotch chalk
are you gonna bust back
or are you full of talk,
when they bomb your homes and
murder your babies
what are you gonna do
when they
take your bags lady?

The war is coming
revolution is on the rise
it’s them against us
and us against them
you better open your eyes.

The war is coming
revolution is on the rise
it’s them against us
and us against them
you better open your eyes.

When the law
breaks the law
they are under themselves
freeze mister officer
this is a citizen arrest
we’ve been watching your
police state test
you’ve been planning martial law
since 1999
this land isn’t your land
this land is mine.

The war is coming
revolution is on the rise
it’s them against us
and us against them
you better open your eyes.

The war is coming
revolution is on the rise
it’s them against us
and us against them
you better open your eyes.

Rabble | Camille Clark - Read Poetry Online by Talented Contemporary Poets

Rabble | Camille Clark

I do not know about the rabble
that keeps some people busy,
but I know about the perfect
green serene moments of clarity,
when it is just me and a wine
glass. Not the fast dazzle of
drizzle traffic, not the loners
who cross bridges and beg for
coins, but the small instant
when the mind closes in on true
beauty and leaves chaos behind.

Insidious | Wandering Biku - Read Poetry Online by Talented Contemporary Poets

Insidious | Wandering Biku

Negativity is not always overtly depressive,
Positivity is not always overtly happy.

Negativity eats away, piece by piece.
It hides in the banal.
Its disguised by layers of colour,
Noise, applause.

Negativity is drip fed, unnoticed.
The bland
The ordinary
The acceptable
Even the comfortable.

Negativity keeps you in your place,
Convinces you
How good you’ve got it,
Fosters no hope,
Breeds joy in superficiality.

Negativity is not a natural state of mind.
No one wants it, yet
Its continually perpetuated by those
Who are blind to it.

Negativity tells you that Positivity is frivolous and childish,
Happy-clappy psycho-babble,
Is an immense effort, an uphill struggle,
A dream, stupid, deluded, unobtainable…
Well, it would, wouldn’t it? Its Negative.

Negativity sets you unattainable goals,
Holds up a false mirror,
Tells you that you need to be
What you can’t be…

But still you ache, drive, strive
To get there,
Concentrating all energy on it,
To the detriment of all else.

No-Minding My Own Business | Sudeep Adhikari - Read Poetry Online by Talented Contemporary Poets

No-Minding My Own Business | Sudeep Adhikari

I never noticed that it all can
go so quiet sometimes. I can almost
hear the breaths and buzzes of a
a punk-looking bug that keeps
coming around my balcony, painted
in color of fire, mixed with a few
faces of cremated cloud. And
that sound of leaking faucet, remixed by
the moans of unseen
desires with wings and wheels.
The death of thoughts is the birth
of my no-mind. I see
pure nothingness morphing into
countless multiverses, before
I wake up to my
old world of decay and innocent sins.
