Jumper – A Poem by G. S. Katz

A jumper was on the 6th floor
Of a building down the street from me
Crowds gathered, cops, EMS, the whole 9 yards
But here’s the deal
This is New York City
If you’re gonna mess up traffic
With your dramatic maybe death
We want a body on the sidewalk
Because in this town
If you threaten and punk out
You’re just a wuss

Selected Rage Against Human Forms – A Poem by G. S. Katz

Have a nice day
What if I don’t want to?
Don’t push your homely mantras on me
Someone lamer should receive that crap

Cities are for kids under 3
Get born here and then move out
Cities are for adults 18 and up
Start packing

The more reclusive I want to be
The more I get invited to useless events
Pushing back, not going
Like a prostitute, pay me or leave me alone

Not a Foodie - A Poem by G. S. Katz - Read Poetry Online by Talented Contemporary Poets

Not a Foodie – A Poem by G. S. Katz

like good food
live in NYC
we’ve got the best restaurants here
short of Paris perhaps

but labeling yourself a “foodie”
is pretentious and pathetic

make sure you don’t go into debt
at those restaurants who laugh at you
when you pay the bill remember
it’s food, not gold

no, not a foodie
look in the mirror
are you really sure
you wanna call yourself that?
