Heard | Hino Black

Through my bed room window..
I’m aimlessly looking at the sky…
Thinking of my life so far..
I’ve only knew things..
I didn’t want to know..
I lost my voice and only their words..
I’m now speaking..
There’s a voice in my heart…
Telling me ..Don’t follow the orders of society…
And be free like a bird..
Keep on dreaming..
Even these dreams are disappearing with the wind..
They decided everything for me..
Even which dream I should dream…
Everything it’s their choice..
My clothes.. My beliefs.. My dreams.. Even my future..
But from time to time…
I will break their rules..
And fly outside the herd..
And sing melodies…
That they never heard..
Like a bird in the sky..
Flying freely through the night..
Unseen but definitely heard.

Finally Free | Annika Kerner - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

Finally Free | Annika Kerner

today is the day
i’m finally free
of that jerk who
only thinks of himself
who does everything
he can to make
everyone else miserable
who hasn’t done anything
nice for anyone ever
who is incapable of
being kind in any way
who wears a phony persona
only when it benefits him
who made my life
so difficult
but not any more

Evenings | Krushna Chandra Mishra - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

Evenings | Krushna Chandra Mishra

These evenings are different.
To find a little darkness is difficult.
Lights all around are a disturbing thing.
To rest, to sleep, to relax and to enjoy
It looks too difficult for this flooding light.

Sometimes it looks cave life was free.
Emotions in raw forms were pure.
Honest exchanges defined relationships
To find friends or make enemies.

These days evenings don’t help
To hide self, friends, moods and interests.
Exposed in full, how embarrassed one stands
Unable to face admires and critics alike!

The Birds | Guna Moran - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

The Birds | Guna Moran

Because they do not have a permanent home
The birds are always free from the worries of land and property

They make a nest at the time of hatching
The fledglings fly away as they grow wings
The nest too drop down as it rots

As they do not have a permanent home to say their own
They cannot be blinded by the longings for their kins

So they can fly away to reach the horizon with their partners
At their own will

Therefore it’s only them
Who can enjoy the pleasure of getting drenched in rain with with their partners

Challenge | Stan Morrison - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

Challenge | Stan Morrison

I had no life before having children
Things predating are entirely obscure
My life started by seeing the total wonder
Total consciousness, total awareness
The child knowing without fearing
Parents are totally immersed
Witnessing the boundless
Tools of development

Honor and cherish your child’s freedom
Freedom unhampered by regimentation
Don’t hasten to revert to the predated
It will all come along soon enough
