Diamond Life | Kathy J. Anderson - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

Diamond Life | Kathy J. Anderson

The cosmos is inside us
Yet we try to hide from the dark,
Spark of life is dust
From universal birth…

Enjoy the spark of waking up,
New light of day begins to play,
Never fear the past, it can’t last,

Forget and renew
With open eyes, inside and outside
Outer life comes to view,
View your plans instead of fretting
No getting that headache
Just think of the journey
And how you’ll feel
When the womb of dark sparks fiery thoughts,
Let no one take this from you!

Acquiescence | Kenneth Vincent Walker - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

Acquiescence | Kenneth Vincent Walker

So I sit here amongst
Rabbits and squirrels,
While birds charmingly
Chirp, as my pain dulls.

For the wildlife are mainly
Content in just being free,
But I’ve Acquiesced to a
System that’s broken me.

Nature has a natural way
Of soothing the savage
Beast, and also the ability
Of granting my release.

It took me too many frozen
Years to finally understand
That there’s more to life
Than money, and more to

This world than any mere
Mortal can comprehend.

The Leaf from Olympus | Changming Yuan - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

The Leaf from Olympus | Changming Yuan

One day in my previous life
I picked a leaf from a laurel tree
On the peak of Mt. Olympus, and
Put it in between two pages
Of an unread poetry collection.
Now, opening the long-forgotten book
I spot a bird flying from behind
The leaf. Though it has been
Prisoned there for almost half a century
It chooses to fly into the sky of history
The instant it sees the light.
