Ode to Roy Moore and Governor Kay Ivey | Eliza Mimski

Thank you, Alabama
Thank you thank you thank you
Thank you for Roy Moore
We couldn’t ask for more.

Thank you, Alabama
Thank you thank you thank you
Thank you for Kay Ivey
She really helps our psyche.

Thank you to Roy Moore
his mores on the floor
Thank you to Kay Ivey
She makes us feel so grimy
We wish we’d had a father
We wish we’d had a mother
We wish we’d had a father
We wish we’d had a mother
We wish we’d had a father and a mother
Just like you.

Thank you to Roy Moore for all you’ve done for girls and women
Thank you to Kay Ivy for all you’ve done for girls and women

Darn that Alabama
You are our top banana
We love your politicians
Gosh darn it they are Christians

Hubba hubba hubba hubba
We gotta gotta gotta love ya!

Dreams Weird and Hard | Krushna Chandra Mishra - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

Dreams Weird and Hard | Krushna Chandra Mishra

As much insult you have
heaped upon the weak
thinking they cannot
confront you,
you in your own
weirdest of dreams
shall never have met
how more than that
in simplicity and unity
these people of the best
of spines available to the species
in the longest story of its
evolution shall return you
making you recoil in silence
to your crooked civilisation’s
smoking spinelessness.

Biblical Tales | Stan Morrison - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

Biblical Tales | Stan Morrison

like Moses and the burning bush
there is a conflagration of morality
with nonstop crimes and coverups
self-enrichment and debauches
that defy our ability to be shocked
while the doer’s flame isn’t snuffed out

then the senate parts the polluted waters
so the doer and the gang of thousands
can skate on through mockingly unscathed
