Fritillaries | David Sermersheim - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Fritillaries | David Sermersheim

a pair of Fritillaries
float drift and glide
dancing on air
weaving interlaced designs
around one another
in arcs
of becoming
ascending
on an invisible strand
like lovers consummating
in a spiral
of forgetting
who they are

Everything | Susy Kamber - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Everything | Susy Kamber

The water contained everything.
It was an ocean, a river, a tide.
Rolling its passions forward.
Calling out,
Ride with me.
Float into my flowers.
Smooth touches.
Reflections of light.
The gaiety as it bends.
Surely one can feel these blue waters.
Cupping ones hands together.
Splashing another.
Water everywhere and so is your laughter.

Four Haiku by Ken Allan Dronsfield - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Four Haiku by Ken Allan Dronsfield

gold gossamer wings
shared life of privileged bliss
feather melts away
—–
small little green tree
hardened tempests have all lost
rooted much deeper
—–
Baja timeless spent
dryness within challenges
still waterless times
—–
character lost there
partake of sensual sky
Night in Joshua Tree

This Is Not a Poem | James Diaz - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

This Is Not a Poem | James Diaz

I’m more of a Cassandra with
my fingers on the pane
of Gettysburg
and early in the morning
it’s the birds territory
we step into
borrowing things
that belong to them
not just songs
but language barriers
and sometimes
even falling
out of trees
at night
if only on the inside

Endless Wonders | Stan Morrison - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Endless Wonders | Stan Morrison

It takes a while for pale green dots
To turn into some grape varietal
It takes only time, soil, rain, sun
No need for supervision or religion
These sacred green dot embryos
Own all the information in code
To build asymmetric conical clusters
The endless wonders that abound
Stakes and trellises optional
