Dues | Edgar Law - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Dues | Edgar Law

They tell me pay my dues
But I paid them tenfold
With the anchor round my
Neck, with the busted
Knuckle hand, with arthritis
From the cold, drippy nose
From the rain, I tell you
I have walked this earth
Since Methuselah and see
Into their selfish hearts.

Frogs Glee Club | Christine Emmert - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Frogs Glee Club | Christine Emmert

It is Springtime
when the sparkle of sun
lights up
the stage
where the frogs
commence glorious practice.
I stand unknown to their singing.
I would sing myself. But they are baritones!
My soprano is mute.
Deep and in tune with the day
they cannot be out of tune
while Mother Nature smiles approvingly.

Today | Ananya S. Guha - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Today | Ananya S. Guha

Today was not another day
the ripples were missing
the laughter hid behind trees
the sun did not play nor seek
today I woke up to a morning where everything seemed like the supine hills, I’ve lived upon played
on their laps and listened
to incantatory voices
but, today was not everyday
I wanted to take a dagger and stoke my feelings, into
a slice of half-driven poetry.

Completing the Revolution | Scott Thomas Outlar - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Completing the Revolution | Scott Thomas Outlar

A kiss…lightly upon the lips
A caress…gently upon the skin
A shutter…tearing through the heart
A smile…spreading over the earth
A laugh…lighting up a room
A whisper…sweetly creating a moment
A song…bursting forth from the darkness
A beat…falling perfectly into rhythm
A dance…gliding across the floor
A wave…rising with the tide
A shine…pulsing from the heavens
A star…tossing down its fate
A cycle…turning in rotation
A love…being birthed anew

Lovely Nature | Mantri Pragada Markandeyulu - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Lovely Nature | Mantri Pragada Markandeyulu

Feel happy at the natural sites
Pleasantness comes in life
Feel happy at river-flow site
One’s ideas flow like water flow

Pray my Nature God for my birth
Godness is beautiful nature
Nature belongs to living beings
Preserve my beauty land

I feel happy to adores my nature
My loving the nature, is my loving the Universe
My breathing the oxygen, is my living the life
I can’t pack the air, but for my deeds

Beauty lies in the farm land
Waterfalls is the life-line
Life’s happiness is the river flows
Not pollute the water and air

Am here in this glittering world
Nature has compositions
Nature knew its compositions well
Nature has hidden healing powers

Avoid and avoid, conflicts and combats
Minds vary from leader to leader
Hope to be optimistic for peace and tranquility
Don’t suggest for gun and bomb battles

People in power, can’t act fast
Power is not for combats and conflicts
Souls weep if lives are lost
Cursing can ruin the heredity’s soon

Sow a seed
Plant a tree
Water and soon
Reap the growth
Leave it be
Fend for self
Watch the weed

Ode to April | Tatiana Martchenko - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Ode to April | Tatiana Martchenko

Nature’s busy, what a fuss-
Chirpy April came to us!
The sky is bluer, the sun is bright,
April-month is outside!

Fresh green grass smells so awesome,
Cherries ‘re dressed in a rosy blossom
Apple trees- in a snow-white,
Nature’s filled with a laughing light!

Ice on the rivers melts to crack,
Geese and cranes are flying back,
Grass and flowers upward sprung:
Welcome, April, strong and young!

Everyone’s involved in chores
Coming out of indoors
Little ants work hard around
Their house on the mound.

The birds are twittering above,
Cats are calling out for love,
Squirrels ‘re looking for new food,
Kids have fun and a happy mood.

April is funny and so cool,
April 1-st is April’s Fool!,
April is singing in my heart:
Finally, true Spring will start!
