These Days | Dinka Bednjacic - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

These Days | Dinka Bednjacic

These days I walk
at an easy pace
In cold autumn months
I choose sheltered streets
where wind is more merciful
to my face

Climbing up steep terrain
tires my heart,
each breath gasps for the next

I no longer try to be
a marathon runner
In the end of it all
time catches up- anyway

Today I bade farewell again
to another season
Watch last oak leaves
falling onto a cold ground

Take the time to listen
to my own footsteps
Sometimes, I think of us
in idyllic northern summer
lazing by the winding river
Gazing over water ripples
stealing our reflections
Riding horses through
corn fields- unfazed of
what is behind our sphere
Little we knew then how
in the future
we had to carry the world
on our shoulders,
loaded with consequences
of our actions
Decisions made in haste
not knowing how in life
everything has its price

These days I walk with care
I don’t want inflict pain
on anyone- on anything
I hope you too think of the time
where we stepped into adulthood
and on this crossroad of life,
we lost each other- forever

To the Mystic Forefront…
Truth’s Storefront…
Indivisible Byproduct…
Mass Produced…
In Infinite Quantities…
Only derailed by doubt and fear…
Prior to self contraction…
Is the Heart’s Treasure Trove of Abundance…
Inside the Flow of Breath…
The Peaceful Delivery…
Chilling Enterprise…
Dancing with Her Presence…
Singing…
From the Mythic Plateau…
Photonic Heartbeats…

The Girl the Birds and the Boy | Jenny Middleton - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

The Girl the Birds and the Boy | Jenny Middleton

Parakeets, jade bright and lit
with watery sunrise lean swiftly
to their reflections
as they soar through dawn,
born seemingly from the tongue
like twirl of willows and a tangle
of dun branches that trail
the river and its way.

All night they have sat here-
the girl, the birds and the boy,
blanket wrapped and waiting,
sleep snuggled and cooled.
The blush of the world at bay
and its formal carnations lost
amongst the damp scent of weeds,
clambering and clustering the banks.

Then the rush of fish; salmon, leaping,
flying through the water to spawn,
to live and to die amid such brightness
and to be reborn.

New Departure | Stan Morrison - A Poetry Website Featuring Poems by Contemporary Poets

New Departure | Stan Morrison

children fighting get adult interventions
you really hurt him, so say you’re sorry
give him back his toy, never do that again
take turns, be kind, share with everyone
time out to reflect on your behavior

nations fighting seek out new alliances
time out and reflection signs of weakness
might makes right the eternal anthem
kindness, sharing, saying you’re sorry
the antitheses of getting one re-elected

before this war, there were wars
before this lie, there were lies
history’s full of unfamiliar faces
telling us lies, sending us to wars
killing youths for old men’s failures

humans are the only ones
who can say we’re sorry
who can reflect in time out
who can change behaviors
be sure of what you stand for

Sollux Poem Homestuck Related. Two-Toned Eyes a Real Sollux Reference Poem to My Real Life | L Lawliet

How come when I awake I see this world through two-toned eyes; one see’s the good in this world, the other see’s the worst; out come fading away what good there is.
How come when I blink my eyes it goes from dark to light, seeming as if it we’re being viewed from two-toned eyes seeing the people I know as good people out of one, the other as evil people out to make my life worse.
Or when I cry I see the world so blue but when I smile I see the world so bright, red as if I noticed the truth of happiness, sadness as if seen through two-toned eyes.
It’s like when I wanna give up I see the world so grey, cold, but when I want to keep going for others, myself, ’cause they give me the strength I see the world yellow as if looking through two-toned eyes.
Or the times when it gets better the world looks so green, I smile with joy then times get worse, I fall to my knees, cry again seeing a darker shade of black at this world image as if seen through two-toned eyes.
When I also just don’t know what to see, I’m scared I see this world out of one eye blue, the other black though when I have hope, I’m not scared I see this world blue, red as if seen through two-toned eyes.
I truly see this world through two-toned eyes, sometimes red/blue, blue/red or yellow– red or blue or all black or all white or just yellow with white or black ’cause I see this world through two-toned eyes.
