Graceful | Roger Still
They asked me
the most important
feature, and I said
Give yourself the grace
to be imperfect
improving over time
No one gets everything
right out the gate.
They asked me
the most important
feature, and I said
Give yourself the grace
to be imperfect
improving over time
No one gets everything
right out the gate.
Drop deep chasm
of my inmost soul
Spot the dot
small yesterday shadow
We’ll all see
where the river empties.
Here
I am
a pendulum
a crest
of a wave
suspended
high in the air
a spectacle
until I cast
myself down
mingling
among the crowd.
Today I’m feeling
frisky
like grand boat
adventure frisky
like learning
to be patient frisky
like eat something
new then get sick
frisky
but who knows
I will probably just
inhabit my couch
chewing on desires.
Mr. Deadly Mustache
thinks he knows
the quip to my heart
But he’s no Tom Selleck
not even Bob Saget
who sported no mustache
at all
He’s not even deadly
which I find out
only too late
after listening to his
tall tales a while.
Plunging into mists of sorrow
the light at the other end
flickers intermittently
then you know mists will lift
and clouds will burst into
thunderstorm.
