saying goodbye poems

Letting Go | Lynn Long - Read Poetry Online by Talented Contemporary Poets

Letting Go | Lynn Long

A melancholy moment
with the rising of dawn
A sense of clarity
come and gone
For I’ve said goodbye
again and again
In tears that won’t flow,
for you, my friend,
Yet, the soul cries
liar, and I cannot
deny, the feelings
of longing deep
inside…
But, my heart,
my heart-
speaks a truth,
the soul does
not know
It is time the
heart whispers,
to just let
go…

A Goodbye Too Soon | Deepti Sharma - Read Poetry Online by Talented Contemporary Poets

A Goodbye Too Soon | Deepti Sharma

A day lost in labyrinth
a reticent hospital room
moderate nurse carrying
syringes of eternal truce.
His pastoral ruby romance
his unoriginal lover..
through the cherry blossoms
the unsung haiku clamour
wispy sun sieving
her early morning face..
the needle through his vein
now a rudimentary cliche.
Promises and denials
up in the smoke rings
Chemo had a tangent
O my holy daffodil!
Fallen hair screaming
Aplomb pulverized
Farewell seems easy
and our chorus plagiarized.
Tomorrow will be another
disquieting splinter
an appealing dream of you…
Aah! or a goodbye midwinter.

Bittersweet Goodbye | Maria Aspiros - Read Poetry Online by Talented Contemporary Poets

Bittersweet Goodbye | Maria Aspiros

Knocked once, you pressed me twice
A cold-hearted person with a dice
Sweet girl that is in love with a price
Cut me through with just one slice
Since you were so nice

Listened to their advice
Sacrificed won’t suffice
Acting as cold as ice
Am over the edge of paradise
Fooling myself with all the lies

All she believes are her eyes
That only sees the darkest skies
Didn’t notice the angel in disguise
The great door open flies
Just like the love defies

When the memory dies
Still the writer cries
And softly sighs
In distance will arise
Just barely staying alive
