I Melt | Mónika Tóth
dedicated to my nice Romanian friend Vasile
In this cruel world
I see the goodness in your eyes
I melt
dedicated to my nice Romanian friend Vasile
In this cruel world
I see the goodness in your eyes
I melt
Let me seek asylum in the silence of my woods
away from my city
of blaring horns and confusion- plaguing
slashing my birds
Let me sit on the banks of my silent stream
gazing at the fishes floating by
listening to the music of my trees
playing on the strings of my breeze
Let me lie on my verdant fields
dappled sunlight playing hide n seek
till my moon arrives with the stars
driving away my gloom
with their torches-
shining!
It’s calm here
In the woods
Where the trees stand
Tall and courageous
And dangerous silence
Blossoms into careful orchids
Grounding its roots
Among the tree’s secure branches
And the storm overhead
Is blocked by the protection
Embracing canopies
Providing shelter
From the wreckage
