My Daily Life | Pijush Kanti Deb

For something hilarious and tumultuous
well deserving I am and so prompt always
to be unloaded myself from bed daily
at the feet of a colossal day
turning my wakeful eyes into diamonds
to witness and perceive the color of the sunrise
bloomed in the oriental sky
matching my hands
with the hands of the earthly skeptic judges
and embellishing my heart
with the spreading colors of flying colors
making my day too generous and impartial
in giving me,
as usual,
a glass of water and a mirror
advising me to follow my own forehead
singing and dancing,
if the water is felt tastier to its last drop
and the mirror is kissed
again and again
for its brighter reflection of my own
or else
a drop of water is ought to be sought out
to drown myself to reach down to the earthly hell.
