Soft Rain – A Poem by G. S. Katz

Sunday morning
Quiet rain
Washing earth’s core
Contemplative and somber

So much to think about
Choosing to not think at all
Winter, heat on high, windows open
Landlord controlling fate, badly at best

Time for breakfast
Boring sameness awaits
Thinking about something gooey and creamy
Small pleasures in the nether world of thought
