My Legacy | Lisaroselea

I have a little secret which I’m gonna let you know!
I hid my Will in a biscuit tin, many moons ago.
I also wrote a little note and tucked it safe inside.
Some photos too, of my bygone years; to be opened when I died.

That biscuit tin’s well hidden and I’m SURE it’s full of rust,
I never told a single soul, for there’s no one I would trust.
A fortune from my lifetime? Bequeathed to all those left?
Can my legacy bring them joy, or will they feel bereft?

Would love to see their faces when they get this gift from me
Can see them booking flights to destinations ‘cross the sea.
Champagne corks a-popping as they work out what to buy.
And I feel a little guilty, as I deem to tell you why.

I’ve spent the ruddy lot you see, and I have had a ball!
No old timer’s home for me, the beer-off’s had it all
Not a dime, nor a pound; there is nothing that they’re due,
There’s just THAT piece of paper. A simple I.O.U.!
