Addicted to My Addiction - A Poem by G. S. Katz - Dive into the Depths of Contemporary Voices

Addicted to My Addiction – A Poem by G. S. Katz

Can’t tell if it’s you I’m addicted to
Or the addiction itself
It’s so very easy to give you up temporarily
Knowing like a drinker, smoker or crack head
I’ll be back again for more of the same

We fight, we laugh, we call each other names
We make love, sometimes rougher than usual
We drink, cook food, talk about our day

What keeps me coming back after we split off?
It’s that inexplicable rush
When the timing is just right
Not quite love, but that way of seeing

If you’ve been there, you know
If you haven’t, keep trying
It’s utopia
Bigger than both of us, addiction tried and true
