The Rain of Mercy – A Poem by Pritha Chakraborty

I have waited too long
To be left behind.
Years went by,
But never did I.
I stayed and stayed,
Perched on the same branch,
And waited…
Like the Jacobin,
Awaiting rain.
Let not my wait go in vain.
It’s time the rain of mercy came.
