The Dance | Jenny Middleton - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

The Dance | Jenny Middleton

Suspended and spinning
the chandelier’s filaments glance
over their bodies
with glassy indifference flood lighting
a tremble of insecurities.

They move through the glare
to a stumble of shadows;
treacle thick –
intimate, blending secrets
to molasses; golden and dark.
