Next to You | Chris Way

It’s not a cigarette
Or a fresh brew
All I want in the mornings is to wake next to you
I can skip the bowl
and breakfast too
All I want in the mornings is to wake next to you
When I close my eyes
To fall asleep
The dream world I enter
And a soul I meet
I’d never seen her face
Until this time
In my dreams and life
She has appeared in mine
Her grace is good
And spirit free
When I am troubled
She is good to me
At the end of the day
When awake is through
All I want in the mornings is to wake next to you
You can have my mind
Soul and heart too
All I want in the mornings is to wake next to you
Falling asleep
Cuddled in deep
Legs intertwined
From waist to feet
Third eyes together
Hands clasped tight
One more kiss
And I say good night
And when I wake
I’ll skip the fresh brew
I’m going back to sleep because I’m still next to you
