Omega | Gary Steven Slaughter - Read Poetry Online by Talented Contemporary Poets

Omega | Gary Steven Slaughter

The stars fell just an inch
as the sky began settling
toward the ground
The great cities that had
once held it up
were now crumbling beneath
the weight of men
and blowing in the wind
toward the sea
The moon shines a bit less
bright tonight
as the sun did earlier
this afternoon
You asked me once,
but I never answered
I did not know then
what I know now
The answer is here
The universe ends here
