Let’s Make a Bonfire | Okeme Jerome

Come let’s make a Bonfire
And roast our bitter yesterday
To have a tasty ‘moro
Spiced with love and happiness.

Come let’s make a Bonfire
Cast to it our fears
Dry our tears
And tell thoughtful tales as we warm ourselves.

Come let’s make a Bonfire
To dance around, stamping our feet rhythmically
Shaking off our sorrows
As we sing at the top of our voices.

Come let’s make a Bonfire
Large enough to consume our hatred
Transform it to ashes
To be blown away by the hurricane

Come let’s make a Bonfire
Holding hands in unity
Lighting the world with our smiles
And chasing grudges with great laughters.

Come let’s make a Bonfire
And roast our bitter yesterday
To have a tasty ‘moro
Spiced with love and happiness.
