Panic | Jennifer Criss

There is it again
It hits without warning
It grabs hold like claws
Around your throat
And squeezes
That fear,
like sitting atop a roller coaster
The vibration goes through
Your fingertips
And down into your toes
And deep in your belly
That fear
Like you’re plunging fast
Into a dark tunnel
But you’re in your own bed
In your own room
Alone with your thoughts
That fear
Like a lightning bolt
From nowhere
You reach down to find
Where it came from
But come up with nothing
That fear
You clench your eyes tight
Wishing that feeling inside
To go swiftly away
But it grabs hold until
It’s quite done with you
