Pieces | Renee' Drummond-Brown - Appreciate Language and Form through the Best Contemporary Poetry

Pieces | Renee' Drummond-Brown

Bit by bit
they broke me.
Shards can’t be fixed.
Shattered pieces
fragments within
parts of illusions
faced down
smiles far less than
artificial frowns.
They broke me
mid-flight.
Smithereens
fell down
restoration
can’t be found.
They broke me
can’t be fixed
itty bitty
pieces.
