Tears | Gauri Dixit - Dive into the Depths of Contemporary Voices

Tears | Gauri Dixit

You cry
I cry too
We both drown the tears in a bottle full of spirits
Waking up to a headache next morning
From morning’s balcony the day looks like a dud
And it does not disappoint
We hardly have any days that are disappointing, don’t we?
We come back to the evening
To cry some more
Drowning our tears in a different bottle of spirits
The brand depends on the day of the month
And it will continue to be that way
Till we wake up in the mornings
And show up to work
To a dud day

Once
For a change
Should we try
Not to cry
We will have no tears to drown
Maybe we will tell each other one happy story (I am sure each of us has at least one)
And sleep
Perhaps we will wake up to a morning
From where the day looks promising
Days have never disappointed us
And I see no reason that they will start now
